Craig S. Smith, General Manager of JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa is delighted to announce the appointment of Nick Reade as Executive Chef.
Nick has a strong background in European cuisine and in particular French classical , cuisine. Born in Britian, he has over 20 years culinary experience in many well known restaurants across Europe. He spent 13 years working for the famed chef Albert Roux in London in Le Gavroche (3 Michelin Stars), and then moved to Pont-de-L’isere, France to work with Michel Chabran (2 Michelin Stars). His career then took him to the Grand Hotel in Amsterdam as Executive Chef.
Nick also worked as an Associate Consultant for Albert Roux overseeing food and beverage operations in the United States (Key Largo) and in Europe (London, Amsterdam, Geneva).
Nick’s career with Marriott International commenced in 1998 when he was appointed Executive Chef at Amsterdam Marriott Hotel in the Netherlands. Before moving to Thailand, Nick worked as Executive Chef at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort, Queensland, Australia, where he worked with some outstanding seafood products. “I love creating new innovative recipes and exploring new delicate tastes,” says Nick – a passionate foodie.
Nick has won several awards for his excellence in several categories including Leadership Award 1999 from the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel, Manager of the Year 2004 and Marriott Guest Recognition Award from Surfers Paradise. In his free time, Nick loves to dive, fish, swim and travel.
